The Tornio River Valley is one of the three areas in Finland, selected as a pilot site in the AECLIC Climate worskshop. The AECLIC project defines, tests and disseminates models for the configuration of regional/local networks for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation in Pilot Landscapes representing the cultural, social, spatial and biophysical diversity. The newspaper article reports the studies on the Tornio river valley area representing both urban and rural environments and the concerns of the future climate change effects on the energy production, infrastructure, agriculture and forestry and fishing.
