With weeks of shelter-in-place orders past, lockdown is now becoming the new normal. Videoconference business meetings may not be a stretch for many office professionals, but now society at large is coming up with ways to hold funerals by videoconference, move classes online and, yes, get Zumped — that’s when your romantic partner breaks up with you via Zoom.

We’d all love to surprise Mom with the car of her dreams, right? In this time of coronavirus woes, though, we don’t really see too many folks — even those flush with cash — dropping big coin to earn brownie points with their parents. So consider this list to be something of a daydream catalog, or better yet, a set of vehicles that your matriarch might consider choosing from when it does come time for her to replace her ride.

Boot up Animal Crossings: New Horizons on June 1 and you’ll be greeted to a PSA from Isabella informing you that love is in the air. Finally. She’s hinting at the entire month of June being wedding season within the game, which means new stuff for you to do and, more importantly, new items for you to earn.

The pandemic has disrupted our existence in countless ways, but life goes on despite the hardships. Videoconferencing tools like Zoom, Google Hangouts, Microsoft Skype, Apple Facetime and Microsoft Teams have surged in use as people have signed on for business, school and personal connections.

Some Good News, the feel-good news show hosted for the past eight weeks by John Krasinski, has sadly come an end — at least for its initial run of eight episodes. In the final instalment for now, Krasinski turned the lens on the positive community built up around the show, as well as dropping a few behind-the-scenes bloopers, including from last week’s The Office Zoom wedding destination.

mily.’ For Jay, who is father to daughter Zola, 13, the premise of the show resonates on a very personal level.
Five years ago, his marriage broke down and he left his family home, temporarily sleeping rough in his car. He’s described that time as ‘hitting rock bottom’, admitting he came close to taking his life. To now find himself fronting a primetime BBC show is, he says

Once you nip over to his island, you’ll see that the sweet folks in question are Reese and Cyrus, two alpacas you may or may not have met in the 3DS game Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It’s their anniversary, Harv tells you, and they’re after some celebratory photos. He’s got a studio but no props, and wants you to help them out by providing said props and styling their sets.

But I’m here to say the Unsolved Mysteries reboot sucked me in from the first minute. While I hesitate to say it’s better than the Robert Stack original, it’s that rare remake that uses all the improvements made in television since its first run to evolve into a fresh, modern and fascinating version of its old self. The interviews are longer and more in-depth. The re-enactments are judiciously used and aren’t cheesy. The cases are well-chosen and get plenty of time. If you found yourself sucked into the podcast Serial, you’ve found your summer TV obsession.

A few of those highlights include: Oprah Winfrey giving advice to college graduates, astronauts dropping in from the International Space Station and the original cast of Hamilton singing Alexander Hamilton to a 9-year-old girl who missed out on the show.

What rewards can I get? Each day the couple will ask for a different theme and will give you a different item for helping them out. The first day you’re tasked with recreating a wedding ceremony, using items Reese helpfully prepared for you, with the reward being a Wedding Bench. The second day they’ll ask you to create a wedding reception set, and will hook you up with a Wedding Table for all the help.

Using Zoom can be hazardous at the best of times, but Krasinski not only married a couple on its virtual podium, he brought together the entire cast of The Office to reenact the wedding dance to Forever by Chris Brown that made Jim and Pam’s wedding truly special on the show.
